For the second time in as many month’s, Wilmington’s Ohio Vein & Vascular has been recognized in the medical research community. Dr Santin and a team of surgeons from the Cincinnati area have published their research findings in the top vascular surgery journal – The Journal of Vascular Surgery.
“In this study we sought to identify differences in blood clots whether they occurred naturally or as the result of a procedure,” explained Dr Santin. The information they found can be applied to both diagnostic and therapy purposes in the vascular surgery world.
“We have a better appreciation for the characteristics of blood clots in veins in different settings now. This can help surgeons and other physicians determine the best course of treatment for patients when these types of blood clots are now found,” said Dr Santin.
The Journal of Vascular Surgery (JVS) is renowned world-wide as the leading publication of research manuscripts related to diseases of the vascular (arteries and veins) system in the human body. “To have our manuscript accepted to JVS is a huge honor and accomplishment, especially for a practice in rural Ohio ~ it really puts a significant mark on Ohio Vein & Vascular,” said Dr Santin.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the work we are doing here and it is really something that I think the entire southwest Ohio community can be proud of,” explained Dr Santin.
The publication of this article in JVS marks the 18th publication in the medical world for Dr Santin.
